The Chief Architect is responsible for defining CA's strategic direction for our Data Analytics team. As the leader of this development organization, you will motivate, mentor and guide technical development. In addition, you will help define CA’s strategic direction for Data Analytics Products and provide guidance to executive leadership on industry trends and opportunities.

  • In this role, you will:*

  • Function as the Chief Architect for Data Analytics Products.

  • Lead the implementation of new data & analytics technologies, architectures, and/or products.

  • Provide technology leadership to CA’s Business Units, Customers and Partners for CA’s Analytics Reference Architecture and its implementation (Project Jarvis).

  • Act as an agent of change, driving fundamental shifts in process or technology use within the global engineering organization.

  • Define and articulate strategic technology direction.

  • Communicate CA technology positions to industry analysts, key customers and partners and the press.

  • Represent CA in Data & Analytics related conference presentations and keynotes.

  • Define architecture and software integration standards for the global organization.

  • Support CA’s Sales activities by demonstrating the advantages of analytics-driven insights and championing CA’s thought leadership in the data & analytics domain.

  • Demonstrate substantial depth and breadth of understanding, including the creation of new ideas and the synthesis of work by others.

  • Foster a culture of critical thinking, integration and synthesis among other team members

  • Serve as a motivator, mentor, and role model guiding technical and leadership development for other engineers and architects.

  • Be able to “tinker” with new technologies to an extend of building PoC’s as well has highly technical demos.

An ideal background will entail:

  • 15 plus years’ experience in software development roles with a proven track record of cross-product architectural design.

  • Proven track record of developing Data Analytics Products.

  • Experience with Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Predictive Analytics, AI, Big Data, Machine Learning, Hadoop, etc.

  • Hands on experience with various languages, scripting, and libraries to include Java, Angular, and React.

  • Strong experience with container technologies such as Docker, Compose, Kubernetes and Prometheus.

  • Deep experience with software design and development on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Azure along with an understanding of the economic, business and cost models for delivering software on the respective platforms.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, iterative development, and refactoring designs as requirements evolve.

  • Outstanding technical, business, and customer-centric communication skills.

  • Comfortable briefing middle and high-level senior leadership within the company as well as customers.

  • Able to define, review and interpret specifications and work with teams to deliver architecture and design specifications.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and Master’s Degree preferred.
